Parts and Tools

To have everything you need before you start: Once you start this project, you won't be able to drive your Prius until it's done.

Order these from the parts department of your local Toyota dealer. These prices are approximate.

• Cruise Control Switch, part number 84630-47010, $116
• Stop Switch Assembly, part number 84340-32070, $46

• Two 5/8" aluminum screw posts with screws
• Two 3/8" x .17 x 1/2" Nylon spacers (buy a few extra, they're cheap)
• One self tapping machine screw 10-24 x 1/2"

• Dremel type hobby tool with rotary file tip and circular cutting disc
  
• Steering wheel puller kit: ours was from Kragen (a.k.a. Checker or Schucks), $7.98
  
• #30 Torx driver or bit
• Socket set with 10mm & 19mm sockets
• Sharp hobby knife
• Small screwdriver
• 14mm crows-foot wrench, (or a very small handled C-wrench) -- needed if you are going change the brake swtich yourself

Once we had the tools and parts it took us about 4 hours to do the installation. The install on the second Prius would have gone much faster, only we were making this web site as we did it!
